Apple provides a standard/limited warranty (AppleCare) and the option for an extended warranty (AppleCare+).

 AppleCare

The AppleCare coverage is a limited warranty that provides repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary hardware and/or software support. This complimentary support is unlimited for “support incidents” within the first 90 days of product ownership. A support incident is defined by Apple as a specific, discrete issue that can be addressed by isolating the origin of the problem to a single, original cause (determined by Apple).

The complimentary hardware support provides numerous solutions through telephone support for basic setup, installation, assembly and connectivity.

The complimentary software support provides numerous solutions through telephone support for installation, launch, or reinstallation (not including data recovery support) as long as your hardware meets the minimum system requirements for said software.

AppleCare+

The AppleCare+ coverage is an extended warranty that not only provides the repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary hardware and/or software support like the limited AppleCare warranty, but extends your warranty for 2 years from the date that your phone was purchased. This extended warranty also includes the addition of up to 2 incidents of accidental damage coverage with each incident subject to a $79.00 service fee plus applicable tax.

Coverage under the AppleCare+ extended warranty gives you:

Technical Support

• Direct access to Apple experts

• Mail-in pre-paid repair

• Carry-in repair

• Express replacement service

Hardware Support

• iPhone device

• Battery

• Included earphones and/or accessories

• Up to 2 incidents of accidental damage (each subject to a $79.00 service fee plus applicable taxes)

Software Support

• iOS and iCloud

• Apple branded apps (Facetime, Mail, Calendar, etc.)

• Connecting to wireless networks

Samsung

Samsung provides a standard or limited warranty that is almost as good as having an extended warranty in terms of the length of coverage. Under normal circumstances (at the discretion of Samsung), repairs will be provided free of charge within one year of purchasing your phone.

Products covered under limited warranty

• Cell Phone coverage for 1 year

• Battery coverage for 1 year

• Leather case coverage for 90 days

• Phone accessory coverage for 1 year

Damages not covered under limited warranty

• Accidental damage

• Product misuse

• Neglect of product

• Unusual physical, electrical, or electromechanical stress

• Product modification including antenna or cosmetic damage

• Product with illegible or removed serial number

• Defects or damages caused by improper/self testing, operation, maintenance, installation and/or adjustment

Additionally, necessary spare parts that are changed are covered up to 1 month from the repair completion date and also impose a non-refundable service fee in advance to non-official products, out-of-warranty products, a broken warranty label and/or missing products. During the warranty period, Samsung will not provide free of charge repair in the event of user self-repairs, water exposure, or product misuse.

Users should retain and present their original invoice for each and every warranty service. If an original invoice is not presented, when phone is serviced, the products will be treated and repaired as a non-warranty product. Along with the presentation of the original invoice, it is always recommended that users back-up all cell phone data in the event that data on the cell phone is lost or corrupted.
